The new JUMO IMAGO 500 from M. K. JUCHHEIM GmbH & Co (JUMO), Fulda, Germany, is a fixed-setpoint or profile controller that brings a fresh breeze to the controller market.

Its large back-lit color screen with a viewing area of 100mm x 134mm is extremely operator-friendly. The JUMO IMAGO 500 is great fun to work with, thanks to its simple and intuitive operation. Easy-to-see presentation of pictures, symbols, texts and colors supports the operator prompting.
The housing, in the standard dimensions of 92mm x 92mm with eleven slots for the process inputs and outputs, has a modular design which permits easy and individual retrofitting at any time.
Because of its two separate interfaces, the JUMO IMAGO 500 can transmit configuration parameters or program data and, at the same time, communicate with visualization software. This also means that you can operate an external relay module, use the integrated teleservice function or exchange process data with a PLC via the PROFIBUS DP interface.
All the usual controller types and structures are stored in the controller module. Four independent controllers with eight parameter sets can be managed by the JUMO IMAGO 500, thus permitting complex control tasks such as cascade control. And a cycle time from 50msec makes the instrument highly suitable for fast control processes such as pressure control.
Eight math and logic modules permit the integration of analog or digital values into mathematical or logic formulae, such as are available for ratio / difference or humidity control.
If the instrument is programmed as a profile controller, you have four profiles with 50 programs and a total of 1000 segments at your disposal. For each segment, there are eight control tracks that enable the switching of additional control devices, for example, valves, vents, contactors etc. And, of course, you will also find functions such as cycle programming, tolerance monitoring or parameter set selection.
For process monitoring or control, the instrument features 16 limit comparators with eight different functions allowing you free definition of the variable to be monitored. Additional functions include switch-on/switch-off delay, pulse function or latching.
Further highlights of the JUMO IMAGO 500 are a recording function, graphical program display and an event list. As well as using the pre-defined screen templates, you can also create your own screen layout in the setup program, that matches your specific needs and is individually adapted to the particular type of plant.
