The TMG IO-Link Device Tool is an integrated engineering software for configuring IO-Link masters and operation of IO-Link devices . The key technological element for the operation of the connected devices is the device description IODDs (IO Device Description). A special feature of IO-Link is that this device description is mandatory. So an integration option is available independent of the system environment integration. The IODD is accepted worldwide. The TMG IO-Link Device Tool supports IO-Link V1.0 (IODDs V1.0.1) and IO-Link V1.1 (IODDs V1.1)..

The tool can be used both as a standalone program or can be integrated via TCI (Tool Calling Interface) in PLC programming software such as STEP 7 or TIA Portal.

As a special feature TMG has specified an interface for device graphical user interfaces (Open IO Device GUI) and has integrated it into his tool. This allows not only the parameter tables from the IODDs also to create a graphical interface for IO-Link devices . The interface is disclosed and may be used without restriction and free of charge, as long as the license conditions are observed.
