Product description:

The PROFINET Power Hub consists of one or two motherboards and various plug-in modules for power supply to the fieldbus segment, a connection to PROFINET that supports baud rate up to 100 Megabits per second and Advanced Diagnostics for the physical layer. The PROFINET/PROFIBUS PA gateway is the proxy of all field devices. A GSDML configuration tool simplifies data mapping in the DCS. A special library for PCS 7 400 and 400 H provides an automatic device discovery process and enables configuration via standard function blocks. The library automatically creates functions relevant for the process automation engineer such as summary alarms according to NAMUR recommendation NE 107 and fail safe functionality. The gateway module itself is without configuration.

The PROFINET Power Hub provides the following attributes:

• redundancy selectable for the power supply
• ring redundancy and system redundancy S2
• long service life through extensive use of passive components
• screw or spring terminals with retaining screws
• optional grounding bar for easy connection of the shield
• output power per segment of up to 30 V/500 mA

All modules snap on the motherboard without using tools. In redundant configuration, the modules can be replaced without interrupting the power supply or communication. A small foot print and very low heat dissipation enable the highest segment count per control cabinet reducing foot print and saving cost.

All components can be installed in Zone 2/Class I, Div. 2. Power Hubs support the high-power trunk concept enabling long cable distances and high device counts in any hazardous area.

The optional advanced diagnostic module enables easy monitoring of various quality indicators of the fieldbus physical layer of PROFIBUS PA. This allows faster plant start-up, improved reliability of the segments, and more efficient troubleshooting.
