Product description:

The BK3100 Buscoupler is used to connect the Beckhoff I/O system
to the PROFIBUS network. This coupler supports both DP and FMS at
rates up to 12 Mbaud. The PROFIBUS address is set via 2 rotary
address switches. Up to 64 Beckhoff KL terminals can be connected
to the BK3100. The KL terminals support a wide variety of I/O
including: digital inputs, digital outputs, analog inputs,
analog outputs, counters, thermocouples and RS232 communications.
The Beckhoff I/O system is similar to traditional I/O, but is much
more flexible because of its small granularity. The I/O is sold
groups of 2 or 4 rather than 8. So typically, less I/O is wasted.
