Product description:

The PROFIBUS-Mastercard MIO-RS 485-1 is a multi-functional RS 485 interface card containing two redundant, galvanically separated interfaces for PC use. This card has an on-board microcontroller which operates the RS 485 interfaces by its serial port. The active channel is selected from one microcontroller by external logic.
To use the MIO-RS 485-1 card in the PC you need a MIO-ISA bus card which can ta-ke up to 6 profibus-mastercards.
The program set up in a profibus mastercard is loaded from the PC into the program memory of the microcontroller. Thus, the driver software can be extended easily and changed to another protocol.
